TOPIC: The Ego: Friend or Foe
Sept 11, 18 & 25 – Oct 9, 16, 23 & 30 – Nov 13, 20 & 27
Facilitator: Rev. Milton E. Clarke
The ego is for some a mystery. The ego’s manifestation is reported in the Bible’s book of Genesis when Eve and Adam eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The result is a fall from paradise into a realm of hardship. The question arises: Is the ego a formative enemy to be despised and challenged or a teachable state of consciousness that is worthy of cultivating.
This class will explore the metaphysical significance of select protagonists in the earliest stories of the Bible to illuminate the real nature of the ego and its generative process. Of course, to understand the regenerative process of the ego as depicted in the Bible is to better understand the resurrection and ascension of our own soul. The better we understand the process; the better we can facilitate the realization of our perfect potential.
